ABOUT MEMy name is James Bradanese and I am currently a physical education teacher in Dallas ISD at Hexter Elementary . I graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a BS in Kinesiology with certifications in both Generalist EC-4 and PK-12 Health and Physical Education. I completed my masters degree in teacher leadership, from Lamar University. I taught in Richardson ISD for 12 years. For the past 4 years I have been teaching Elementary Physical Education. Prior to Physical Education I spent 8 years teaching second and first grade in the classroom.
Hobbies - Hanging out with my Little Brother, Roger from Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, Crossfit, running, hiking, camping, mountain biking, soccer, Disney Sport Teams- Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and New England Revolution Family - I have two rescue dogs, Lilo and Stitch. Accomplishments- 2015/2016 Lake Highlands Exchange Club Teacher of the Year 2015/2016 Stults Road Elementary Educator of the Year 2015/2016 STARS Teacher Semi-Finalist Philosophy - I believe the responsibilities of a Physical Education teacher are among the most important in the school. It has been proven that physical education has a positive impact on academic performance. I look for as many opportunities as possible to bring in cross-curricular learning into my physical education classes. I firmly believe all of my students are special and posses a wide variety of talent and skills. It is my mission to expose my students to a wide variety of activities, as to encourage him, or her, to discover and enhance these skills. As a professional educator, I will present these activities in a positive and professional manner, as to maximize the self-esteem and the self-confidence of my students. As a result of physical education, my students will learn that physical fitness is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not only now, but for the rest of their lives. |
