Few of the hawks having a ball in PE this week with October themed stations filled with ghosts, pumpkins, spiders, cauldrons and of course PE skills! The kids had a blast going through and dancing in between!
Got October skills stations ready to go this week in PE. Students will be in for a treat rotating through these fun stations such as throwing, striking, and teamwork to name a few. They were getting super excited when they saw me setting things up Monday morning!
Had fun today dollar shopping for Halloween Themed P.E. stations. Got so much great stuff. Cannot wait to set up the gym tomorrow and see the students having fun while being active and practicing all kinds of skills. Just to name a few, we have "score on the ghost", "witch's brew", "Batcave crawl" and "Keep the ghost up". It's going to be a fun week here at Hexter.
Setting up for the Hexter howl this morning. I could't wait for the event to get going. Everything looked so amazing! PTA has done such a great job with this event. The turn out was great with so many families attending. It was so nice to get to meet so many parents and play some of the games with the students.
Pre K worked on their alphabet bouncing in PE this week. They did all 26 letters then they even went through spelling their name bounce style!
Students took on the self progression bucket challenge in PE this week. They started at level 1 on the screen and moved up levels as they completed the tasks listed. They would move their plicker magnet as they made it to the next level to track their progress. The magnet number coincides with their seating number so when scanned by the iPad it shows the students progress. Students were able to work at their own pace and had a great time facing the challenges.
Kindergarten students were working on hand and eye coordination as well as aim and trial and error with the alphabet bounce activity. Level 1 was to single bounce the ball into the bucket from their letter. Once they made it they had to find what letter came next in the alphabet to try for their next bucket. If they made it through all the letters they were ready for Level 2 which was double bounce into the bucket.
We have started learning the names for our bones at Hexter Elementary. We will be adding three new bone names each week!
Students working on "Crossing the Pond." This activity required them to work together and problem solve as a group. The first round was little challenging but they soon figured out how to collaborate with one and another in order to be more successful. They had to cross the gym without touching the wood floor.
